Yoga can be a path of self-realization through which individuals reconnect with their True Nature.

Astrology is a tool that can lead to this aim in that it provides a helpful mirror of the layers of impulses, complexes, and drives (the human bits of us) that tend to cover up and obscure our True Nature.

By learning to identify and work well with these various astrological parts, we’re better able to see through them and to allow the Light of Pure Awareness to become more integrated into our thoughts, words, and interactions with the world.

In this series we will do yoga and inquiry practices which support our understanding of five core impulses that drive us.

These core astrological impulses are:
The urge to cultivate a healthy sense of Self (Sun)
The desire for emotional equilibrium (Moon)
The impulse to perceive the world around us (Mercury)
The longing for peace and enjoyment in life (Venus)
The compulsion to assert one’s personal will (Mars)

Each session includes:

Information about astrology and the planetary archetypes.
Guidance in identifying and understanding the significance of these celestial bodies in your own birth chart.
Embodiment practices in the form of guided yoga asana, breath work, and detailed visualizations to bring the planets to life in your body and mind.
Discussion related how these astrological archetypes are currently and have been historically active in our lives.

Note: Upon registration, you’ll be asked to provide us with your birth information, so Shala can print your birth chart for you to use during the series. She’ll need the date, exact time, and birthplace. If you don’t know the exact time, that’s ok.
